ANALYTICS
+ DATA

My background is in data and newsroom analytics; I’m passionate about making editorial data less scary and more actionable.

In all of my jobs, I’ve worked to bring data to as many editors and reporters as possible. Sometimes that looks like sending a weekly report of push alert open rates, or building an interactive newsletter data dashboard, or fully implementing content analytics tools and training the newsroom on how to get the most out of it.

AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

Though I started in audience data, actually getting to play around and experiment in the newsroom with that data has become equally important — and fun — to me, too.

At Protocol, we had a lot of room to do just that. One initiative centered around data-driven IPO explainers saw 326% higher readership than an average story on site, and overall, we saw a 152% YoY increase in average monthly search traffic.

PRODUCT

I spend a lot of time thinking about how we can improve the process of reading (and finding) the news, about how easy-to-use websites benefit both readers and newsrooms alike, about how product and editorial work together.

Between working on WSJ’s mobile app and working alongside the product team at Rest of World, I’ve come to understand how truly important product is in shaping the future of digital journalism.

I"ve worked with developers and engineers, handling product requests and updates from leaders across the newsroom, implementing workflows, and managing vendor relationships.
